The AutoWebDesigner Tutorial

Templates are pre-designed web pages that you fill in with your own content. We automate the process for you through the AutoWebDesigner (template wizard), an online form you complete right in your browser. The AutoWebDesigner is based on the concept that basic web pages share a similar structure. Each web page usually contains three sections:

  1. A title and headings that tell visitors what the page is about;
  2. The main body, which contains the bulk of the information you want to convey and could include text, sub-headings, and pictures;
  3. And the navigation section, a collection of links that connect each page with the other pages in your website.
Each of our template designs follows this basic structure. When you use the AutoWebDesigner, you will be using our scripts to fill in the title and headings, the main body, and the navigation section so that you don't need to directly edit any HTML code.

Templates are sold as $30 packages. Each package lets you create a six-page website with your choice of template designs. Once you make your purchase, you will be directed to the preliminary step of the AutoWebDesigner. This step asks you to decide the number of web pages you want. Generally, if you have a great deal of information, you should split it up into separate pages. Next, you provide a name and keywords for each web page. This information will be used to create the links for a navigation section. To ensure that the links in the navigation section work correctly, make sure the names of the web pages are the same names you will use when you save them on your computer. Keywords are the word or phrase that visitors will see and click. For example, consider this link. When you click on the word "link," your browser will open a web page named "serv-index.html." "serv-index.html" is the web page's name, and the word "link" is its keyword.

In the same step, you also select a template design for each web page. A good practice is to choose similar designs for all the pages in your website. This leads to a consistent, organized look.

Once you have chosen template designs and named your web pages, you will see a menu containing the name of each web page followed by a corresponding button. When you are ready to create a web page, click on its button, and the form you need to fill out will open in a new window. The form will ask for the web page's title, headings, and text. Once you are done, click on the "Preview" button to see what your page will look like. You can go back to the form, make changes, and preview as many times as you like. When you are satisfied, click on the "Create final" button to create a savable web page. Save this page with the name you chose for it earlier. After you're done with your first page, go back to the menu and create the other pages in the same way.
